Absolutely not. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is poisonous to all cats. Even a very small amount can quickly lead to death. If you feel your cat needs pain medication, please consult with your veterinarian for a safe medication.

From Monday December the 26th until Friday December December the 30th, Peay Animal Hospital will closed daily at 12:00 Noon.
Starting January the 2nd, Peay Animal Hospital will closed at 5:00 pm instead of 6:00 pm at least during the winter months. | |

What you should know about West Nile virus
Q: What is West Nile virus?
A: West Nile virus is an arbovirus (short for arthropod-borne virus) that causes encephalitis (inflammation of the brain). Arboviruses, including West Nile virus, are transmitted by blood-feeding insects such as mosquitoes. Most infections with West Nile virus have been identified in wild birds, but the virus can also infect humans, horses, dogs, cats, bats, chipmunks, skunks, squirrels, domestic rabbits, and domestic birds.

West Nile Virus - First human case in state

State health officer Ed Thompson confirmed Friday the first human case of West Nile Virus reported in Mississippi.
The infected indivual, an unidentified middle-aged resident of Hinds County, is hospitalized nad recovering, Thompson said.

West Nile virus is a mosquito-borne disease that can cause encephalitis, or a brain infection. Mosquitoes acquire the virus from birds and pass it on to other birds, animals and people.
West Nile virus has killed 18 people along the East Coast since it was first detected in this country in New York in 1999. Last summer was the most severe so far, with 66 human infections and nine deaths reported. The first reported human cases of WNV this year in the U.S. occured recently in Louisiana. | |
